About Grassp
Grassp is an organization that facilitates special types of tests, which are specific to the upper limb, for use after tetraplegia. Grassp stands for Graded Redefined Assessment of Strength, Sensation and Prehension and is extensively used for assessing the upper limb function in individuals with tetraplegia.
Grassp was conceptualized in May 2006 when the Dana and Christopher Reeve Foundation brought together experts interested in developing a clinical assessment protocol of upper limb function. Out of them, a small group of six individuals emerged, who are now known as the Grassp Research and Development Group (GRDG). The GRDG is quite active as an inventor group, and they conduct R&D activities related to the Grassp outcome measure, helping the people who need it the most.
