About ElecDirect
ElecDirect is a distributor of electrical parts and industrial components, serving contractors, electricians, and businesses across North America. They sell a wide range of products, including wire terminals, cable ties, toggle switches, conduit connectors, and more.
They have built their business on reliable products, fair pricing, and fast shipping, which is what keeps customers coming back. However, over time, things changed due to rising competition. They saw their buyers expecting quicker, simpler, more self-serve experiences. ElecDirect reached out to us to figure out how to bring their website up to speed and make it work better for the people who use it the most.

What Challenges We Dealt With

Website Redesign
The old site was running on a slow and outdated theme that was built with heavy traditional code. Adding modern B2B features would only make it slower without improving performance. So, the best path forward was a full redesign with a faster, more modern theme that could keep up with both their products and their buyers.
Migration
ElecDirect’s product catalog was huge. It had thousands of stock-keeping units with detailed specs, categories, and customer data. Migrating all of that without data loss or display issues was really a hard task to manage. We had to ensure a smooth transition by carefully mapping every element. We had to conduct multiple rounds of testing while maintaining a clean and stable backend structure.
SEO Preservation
The existing website ranked well for many product keywords, so we couldn’t afford to lose organic traffic. We had to preserve the SEO value, which was tricky because a full redesign and migration often risk breaking URL structures, metadata, and indexation. Any small misstep could have led to traffic drops or lost rankings, especially across category pages that were bringing in steady search volume. We had to be careful at every step.
What We Offered Them
During the first consultation, we reviewed their entire site to understand what was working and what wasn’t. We evaluated the overall performance and structure, comparing it with those of competitor websites. We found issues with speed, layout, and missing B2B functionality. We prepared a clear plan showing how the site could be improved and aligned with their goals. Based on our suggestions, they agreed to go ahead with a complete redesign. Since we’re a Hyva Silver agency, we used the Hyva theme to give them a clean and modern frontend that could support their product range and B2B needs.
